Fox Paine & Company is an American private equity firm focused on leveraged buyout transactions. It was founded in 1996 by Saul A. Fox, a former partner at Kohlberg Kravis Roberts, with W. Dexter Paine III joining as partner in 1997. Following litigation, the partners separated in December 2007, with Saul Fox retaining the firm's name and Dexter Paine forming a new firm, Paine & Partners.
